A clinical and forensic psychologist who has seen Lindsay Clancy nearly 50 times since the killing of her children testified for the defense in court on Tuesday.
Dr. Paul Zeizel said he first visited her when she was hospitalized following the incident. He said she asked for Zeizel's cellphone to call her husband at the time, Patrick Clancy. According to Dr. Zeizel, Patrick did not answer on the first call and Lindsay left a voicemail. They tried again two days later and he picked up. Dr. Zeizel said he made sure the conversation was on speaker.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty in the deaths of the children — Callan, Dawson and Cora — who were found in the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. Prosecutors say she planned the killings, while her defense argues she was suffering from bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis at the time and should not be held criminally responsible.
