Yeah that seems legit, suddenly occupying your own physical space and exploding because you're already there. How stupid of me, being in one place at once. Just as extra punishment, the redscreen takes a couple of minutes to fade back to normal, too.
No, PSX Doom does not support Voodoo Doll exploits. This is basically the result of having a Teleport Landing placed too close (overlapping) the relevant Teleport Line; the resulting self-detonation is something that doesn't happen in the original PC version. At a guess I'm going to blame the JagDoom code on which PSX Doom is based for this. It probably happens in other ports down the line also.
As an Imp kindly demonstrates while I'm killing his buddies with the crap pea-shooter Pistol, monsters are miraculously immune to this bullshit. Because of course they are.
