Spoilers.... They basically serve the same purpose. However, one requires you to be very aggressive in looking for counters while the other is a button mash.

Giving credit to Wave Crash T2. It is a plug in play tool that easily gives you a head start that is largely void of any meaningful error.

The issue SST2 will provide its own head start before Wand Lovers under the conditions.

I would caution that Wave Crash T2 is a bit of a "Burst Trap". While nothing can really compete with it during Wand Lovers; its the weakest Tech Art without Wand Lovers. It's head start slows greatly until the next Wand Lovers.

SST2 with its range and guard frames provides a consistent amp in damage. The kit is maintaining that consistency throughout the fight.

I'd say Wave Crash T2, overall is too limiting and other TaC provide more diverse options even if they can be difficult to manage.

With that said, this assessment is done in a vacuum. Other tools like Swift Smash T3 can curb this. There are just less options given Wave Crash T2 very specific use case.
