The ground is probably worse than Maxx, depending on where you both stand his attacks have varied timings and placements that can be hard to predict. An easy Sub 5 with Fixa Wix (I don't have). I'd probably get more mileage out of EX Bitlz Style as well.

We might be entering an era where downs arent as pivotal or at the very least, they are becoming more scripted / purposeful than before.
While Xavier plays fairly normal, Hanumad, Agni, and Loser have all displayed very different bejaviors/mechanics. Hopefully, Nameless City V3 releases new EX Augs to help confirm this. Either way going raw power by the the safe bet in the coming months.

Defeat Amp provides the necessary down accumulation without going overboard with augments like Gradual Pressing, which often leads to sacrificing damage or some other form of utility.
The issue with down accumulation is that its potency benefit is an all-or-nothing mechanic. Having too little to force an additional down results in damage lost. Having too much results in getting an additional down, but not enough accumulation for a subsequent down (aka overkill). Defeat Amp helps balance this out without having to go out of your way.
For reference my prior Agni personal best was 4:19 (at Te/Sl lvl 110). Defeat Amp makes it easier to determine which subclass you will need for each quest, as it gives you a strong sense of how much down accumulation you need and when.
However, this ring wont solve every fight. For bosses that dont have reliable down situations (DF Dalion) or bosses where Break bar doesnt really matter (DF Vael), another ring should take its place. That ring will likely be Count Amplification.
