Applying liquid metal wrong on a PS5 Slim can make temps worse fast. In this short, I show the correct method: degrease the APU die and heatsink cold plate with 90% isopropyl alcohol until mirror-clean, apply only a tiny drop, and spread it into a thin, uniform film—no clumps, no bare spots. Too much liquid metal can pool or overflow, causing uneven contact and worse heat transfer, so remove excess with a syringe and reapply. Avoid regular cotton swabs (they shed fibers); use lint-free or liquid-metal-safe applicators.
