PS2 Madden 2001 Franchise Week 17 Broncos 49ers
After the loss to the Chiefs, Denver no longer had a chance to catch up to Oakland for the number 1 seed or the division championship. Because of this, I was locked into the 4 seed, and with Davis needing nearly 300 yards to get 3000 on the year, I decided to play it safe and rest him for this game. Brian Griese, Rod Smith, and Ed McCaffrey all took advantage of the extra chances on offense. The 49ers boasted some incredible talent in the passing game (Terrell Owens, Jerry Rice, J.J. Stokes, and Greg Clark) but this game was never really in doubt.
Next up is the Buffalo Bills in the Wildcard round of the playoffs!
