Modeling of a Prussian Model 1852 Cavalry Saber. These sabers were designed to replace the Prussian model 1811 "Blucher" saber, which itself was a copy of the British pattern 1796 light cavalry saber supplied during the Napoleonic Wars. This model, along with the experimental M1849 "Guard Hussar" saber, addressed the many of the issues and complaints raised by Prussia's light cavalry during the First Schleswig War (1848-1852). It featured a proper basket hilt and better weight balance compared to the M1811. It would serve the light cavalry until 1879, when it was replaced with the M1852/79.
This model was designed in Blender 4.1.1. in the 1/35 scale. Total modeling time came in at 2 hours and 9 minutes.
