We stopped by the PRS Guitars booth at Winter NAMM 2020 for a chat with Bryan Ewald about their latest releases, including the SE Hollowbody II, John Mayer Silver Sky with Maple Fingeboard, new additions to the S2 Series and 35th Anniversary Custom 24.
Featuring 58/15 “S” pickups and a sleek hollowbody design for superior resonance, the SE Hollowbody II is the guitar for both hollowbody and solidbody players alike. The trademark PRS bird inlays, figured maple top and back, and mahogany neck and sides round out this stunning addition to PRS’ collection.
The fan-favorite John Mayer Silver Sky gets two new colors, Midnight Rose and Polar Blue, adding the option of a maple fingerboard and original 635JM neck shape.
Celebrating 35 years of guitar making and innovation, the Limited Edition 35th Anniversary Custom 24 builds on the elements that made the original so iconic, adding tone-boosting features like 85/15 treble and bass pickups and two mini-toggle switches to easily bounce between humbucking or true single-coil mode. Available in a striking Black Gold Burst finish.
The S2 Series lineup gets three new additions in the S2 McCarty 594, S2 McCarty 594 Singlecut and S2 McCarty 594 Thinline, each equipped with the 58/15 “S” pickups and a thinner, one-piece, all-mahogany body and a Pattern Thin neck shape for smooth playability.
