For Xin-Hua Chen, LCSW, caring for patients means caring for the people who stand beside them every step of the way. Through compassion, advocacy, and a deep commitment to easing the burdens families face, she has helped create a more supportive and humane experience for patients at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. 

Xin-Hua is a recipient of the 2026 Chancellor Award for Exceptional University Service.
