Alberta's government is proposing to partner with Indigenous communities to build a new pipeline to the West Coast to send Canadian oil to Asian markets. We recognize and share concerns about protecting the West Coast's rich marine ecosystems, wildlife and places of deep cultural significance, and are committed to making sure this project is the safest in the world. In B.C. waters, there hasn’t been an oil tanker spill in more than 50 years, a strong track record that has continued even with increased tanker traffic.
