We love our city. And we need to protect it. Over 40% of Boston residents live in areas that are at risk of coastal flooding, some over a mile away from the ocean. That’s why the City of Boston is partnering with the US Army Corps of Engineers to protect our neighborhoods from sea-level rise and extreme weather.
Visit boston.gov/flood-prevention to read the draft plan, which includes coastal infrastructure projects in Charlestown, Dorchester, East Boston, the North End, South Boston, and Downtown. The deadline for sharing public comments on the draft plan is September 18, 2026.
