The purpose of this video is to show proof of range in a Ford Focus Electric.
After reading several semi-critical articles regarding range anxiety, and being in the market for a new vehicle, I decided to see just how far an EV could get. I took this Ford Focus Electric on a freeway drive from Orange County, California, to Burbank California, 53 miles away (according to Google).
This video is about an hour long, and boring, you can probably skip to the end, I just wanted to upload proof that the Focus Electric can do over 50 miles with little to no regenerative braking, and still leave you with close to 40% of your battery's capacity remaining.
With cuts or edits, there might be doubt. ;)
Full disclosure, the A/C was not running, and I drove at or below the posted speed limits.
Needless to say, I had no range anxiety! This is a GREAT little car.
Edit:
I subsequently did the same drive in the opposite direction with the a/c running, and saw no difference in range.
