Project Phoenix Media | Proof of Concept - Load PS2 Games From SD Card Reader - FMCB & OPL @ProjectPhoenixMedia | Uploaded May 2018 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
Today's proof of concept video I wanted to know if using a SD card reader that can load a game from a microsd card will work using FMCB and OPL 0.9.3. The short answer is yes it does (with the memory card reader I have) and it may also work for you.
This is a neat solution if you don't have a spare USB flash or external hard drive handy, but you got extra microsd cards (or SD cards) laying around.
If you forgot how to install games on your usb device, put ISO games (4GB or less) either into a "CD" or "DVD" folder onto root of microsd card (formatted FAT32).
If the ISO is too large, use USBUtil 2.0 or USBExtreme to split the game and save on root of the memory card. If done right, OPL will see it and let you play (assuming its compatible game).
