The ProMedica Volunteer of the Year is given by the ProMedica Foundation to an individual or group whose unselfish and dedicated service has made a significant difference in the lives of our patients, families, and community. This year’s award goes to Susie Shiff and her family in recognition of their continued efforts in memory of Jeff Shiff, an avid runner from Fostoria, Ohio, who passed away in 2008 after a nine-year battle with colon cancer. In his honor, Susie and their four children—Molly, Betsy, Alex, and Sam—created the annual 'Run the Res' event in Fostoria, now in its 12th year. To date, the Shiff family has raised more than $68,500 to support cancer patients and their families.
