PROJECT BRUTALITY 3.0 together with Realm Of Cheogsh for DOOM 2 by Shadowman on the Man and a Half difficulty level, Chaotic Random spawn preset. Project Brutality 3.0 is an upcoming version of one of the best available mods for the classic Doom - expect a lot of fun when playing it. Please note that the Project Brutality 3.0 in its current state is still Work In Progress, so bugs are to be expected, together with crashes to desktop (same with addons, they are not 100% always compatible and actual). Cheogsh series are known for quite long, complex and difficult maps with several custom monsters added to the roster, these maps are also fantastic looking pieces of gritty and heavy climax textures added by Shadowman to make you feel alone. To make things even better this map was released back in 2007, that's so long ago that it is really difficult to find a map such as this, but unfortunately with its comes a big price in terms of compatibility with gameplay mods. First I had to completely skip a part with Trial of Air because it's incredibly bugged and teleports are hardly working thus obtaining Khuman of Air is not possible if you do not use cheats such as noclip or fly because good luck with this. Another part where cheats are needed is during the last MAP03 City of Despair that takes place in some sort of void, unfortunately every teleport you use spawns you outside playable area killing you immediately, you need god + noclip to return. And the last thing is with the skull keys needed for progression to open two doors locked behind them - when you pick them up, they are not added to inventory, you must spawn CH_yellowskull and CH_redskull respectively to have them in inventory. The pace of the maps is slow mostly because of the custom monsters added by the author to the roster, most of them are extremely annoying such as ghosts, cloaked Imps, Stone Imps with homing projectiles, durable cloaked Imps or even Octabrains. But in my opinion the most annoying added custom monster so far is of course the new Revenant variant that has hitscan attacks, on higher difficulty levels it basically can snipe you from long distances as it attacks you in their line of sight. As for the bosses in this mappack, all of them are fairly easy maybe except a Spider boss in MAP02 where you have limited place to run around because of lava and Spider Mother loves to spawn even more annoying enemies to the arena. The mappack as I mentioned earlier is really difficult for every type of player, with custom monsters and overall darkness of the map it adds even more to the challenge, MAP03 is a real test to not fall down in some places.
