Map review:
Projam 5 is one of the biggest mods for AvP2. What many don't realize is that it came packaged with several test maps. The maps are all basically a big box room with npcs for viewing or ai interaction tests. I usually upload each map as an individual video, but these maps are so short that I figured I add them together to one video.
"Simple - Human & Exosuit - Fun" is the player as a human versus an Exosuit in a box room with an apc in the center for cover. "Simple - Human & Predator - Fun" is the same map but it removes the exosuit and adds one human and one predator npc. Both "Simple - Pred & Alien - Fun" and "The Sandbox" appear to be reworks of RaptorRed's model viewer map (avp.raptorred.com/tools/tools_list.php). The "Simple" version has the player as a predator fight a single respawning alien drone npc.
The Sandbox is more like the original model viewer map in that it has a bunch of static npcs. Several of the npcs are stuck in the floor though. "The Actor's Guild" is just like the Sandbox, but looks like the first two simple maps and has a different set of static npcs to look at.
As I mentioned earlier, all of these maps are test maps. They are primarily there for the player to view the character models, skins and a bit of the npc's ai behavior. The ai seems incredibly stupid as they get stuck a lot here. I also made the apc somehow vanish with a pulse grenade.
As for Projam 5 as an actual mod on these maps, I have a mixed opinion. For the most part I enjoy the new models, sounds and textures but the gameplay changes seem very off to me. The predator self-destruct is fantastic though. It's a matter of personal taste I guess with all the gameplay changes. You can decide for yourself.
