The ProForm Carbon T7 Treadmill is currently free with the purchase of a 3-year subscription to iFit. iFit is an interactive training program that is offered on ProForm’s equipment. iFit costs a monthly fee to access all of the trainer-led classes, so this is a great deal if you want a treadmill with guided workouts.
We recommend the Carbon T7 for primarily walking and jogging. It can handle light running but the deck length might limit some users from being able to run. The deck is 20” by 55”. This length is sufficient for most users to walk and jog comfortably. The 2.6 CHP motor is quiet, responsive, and adjusts the speed and incline consistently. With the T7 being an entry-level treadmill, we are pleased with the noise output.
This motor size isn’t best for heavy use such as long-distance training and use at the max speed over extended periods of time. Lighter to moderate use is more appropriate for the longevity of the motor. The speed goes up to 10 mph and the incline goes up to 10% for a good amount of variety with your training.
The ProForm Carbon T7 is compact and foldable. The folding mechanism is new to this model. It no longer has a hydraulic assist. This means that the deck must be lifted and lowered by you, otherwise, it will come crashing to the ground. The deck locks and unlocks with a pin. This feature isn’t our favorite as we prefer the hydraulic assist for lifting and lowering the deck, but the deck folds up to almost 90 degrees to take up less space.
Another design that we noticed on this new model is that the belt hinges and folds just below the motor hood. It is visible when the deck is inclined and folded. I do think this is part of the reason why the treadmill folds up to be so compact.
The 7” touch screen is small and might be difficult to see for those with low visibility. However, iFit’s content and workout metrics are visible to most users. The quick-touch adjustment buttons make the treadmill easy to use, and we love that it adjusts automatically with iFit, too.
If you’re looking for a treadmill that’s enabled with subscription fitness content, then definitely look into the ProForm Carbon T7, it is available for a sweet deal.
