Alumax Boats is renowned for its bespoke aluminium workboats for professional users who need to be able to rely on their equipment in all conditions. From water taxis and inspection vessels to specialist solutions for the emergency services and the Ministry of Defence. Reliability is always paramount. For projects where performance, safety and operational readiness are crucial, Alumax has been choosing Yamaha outboard engines for many years. A partnership that combines technical expertise, innovation and reliability.
Alumax developed a DVV-850 fitted with twin Yamaha 115 pk engines for a diving safety vessel, designed for the training of military divers. The vessel accommodates eight divers and is equipped with facilities to safely lower divers and their equipment into the water and bring them back on board.
The biggest challenge lay in meeting the extensive requirements set by the Ministry of Defence. Not only were performance and functionality important, but the total weight also played a crucial role. Including the trailer, the combined weight had to remain below 3,500 kilograms, so that the vessel remained flexible in its deployment and easy to transport.
