Vital aircraft fluid hoses, like our own cardiovascular systems, are one area that can bring us to a halt in a hurry. They're easy to overlook and under-spec. KITPLANES columnist Myron Nelson recently paid a visit to Aero Performance, a subsidiary of Aircraft Spruce, to see how hoses are made. Not just any hoses, either, these were replacements for his still-good (but getting old) hoses on his Van's RV-10. What stands out? Measure carefully, use the right tools and test what you've built.
