22 years before the likes of Worlds of Wonder’s animated storytelling toys like Teddy Ruxpin & The Talking Mickey Mouse were released, and the same year audio-animatronics were first introduced by WED Enterprises for Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland, There was a little toy released in 1963.. the Prof. Ludwig Von Drake Talking Doll.. he was essentially just a plush speaker, that would hook up to what was the direct predecessor of the compact cassette tape & cassette recorder.. the RCA Magazine Loading Tape Cartridge Deck. A very fascinating piece of history from both an audio & toy standpoint. Also, to my knowledge, the only piece of media Disney released for this obscure format.
All rights go to their original owners. This has been long, long out of print for decades now. Forgive me for the audio distortion.. I had this tape transferred by the only guy I could find that could transfer these types of tapes at the time before I had a functioning deck, and it’s clear some noise reduction filter was used. I may try another time to get a clearer mono recording from the deck I own. But for now, this is the best transfer I’ve got.
