In the latest video in our "how to paint backgrounds for animation" series, we take our approved background layout and do a production-ready tonal pass, a sometimes neglected step that sets up lighting, depth, and clarity before the background goes to paint. This is how I approach tone and lighting on real animation productions, with revision-friendly layers and workflows that make life easier for the next department.
