Producing Queens, Jess Chandra and Jaena St Ana talk about how they got their start, the experiences they’ve had, their growth as leaders, and what it means to be Asian-American in animation production.
Jess Chandra is a Chinese/Indonesian girl currently working at Disney TV animation helping to produce the show Amphibia on Disney Channel. She loves food, almost a little too much, and warm beach days!
Jaena Sta. Ana was born in the Philippines and emigrated to Southern California in the early 90s. She found herself acclimating to her new country through TV and Film, thus her passion for filmmaking began. Jaena navigated her way through film school and into the entertainment industry, creating inspiring and diverse content wherever she could. She has since focused on creating animated content, working at studios such as LucasFilm, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, and DreamWorks Animation where she recently completed Guillermo del Toro's, TrollHunters: Rise of the Titans as a Line Producer. She is currently working at Netflix Animation.
