![Art Students HATE this [BUT IT WORKS!] Procreate painting process
Art lessons can be fun but to be honest, sometimes art assignments are real work that not all art students like. At the beginning of next year, Ill be teaching another concept art class in Helsinki in a game school and Im going to make the students do this exercise again. I know they hate it at first but I know from years of experience that it works so well that theyll understand when they see the results.
Pro tip: If youre a student in my class do nots yell out I dont have any ideas! You wont like my answer =P For ideas on how to build your imagination watch this video instead:

Starting to learn landscape painting can be overwhelming in the beginning. In this video I go through the process of painting Arms of Eternity and break down the unique challenges that came with this piece.
Every painting comes with its own challenges and when youre starting out I dont recommend trying to master everything at once.
Everything in this video might not be applicable to your own painting but its good to practice verbalizing these problem areas as that will help you identify them in your own work too. Try to always frame the issue around your own goals with the painting. What do you you want to communicate or how do you want the viewer to feel?
Before the work is done I try to answer at least one of those questions.
Of course the appeal of some paintings is the questions themselves.
Answers arent as personal.

Starting a painting is the hardest part and its an ongoing challenge for me.
Few mindset principles in this video wont make the process magically easy but they have insured me to never walk away from this challenge. You dont need to artificially make art harder for yourself because its already hard enough to be creating something for the world to see.
Special thanks to the guys in Angry Mob who helped me get this video done by keeping me company during the live stream. 🐾💕🐻
