This isn't a movie.
This is a page from the notebooks I began writing after my arrest in Japan.
In this chapter, I leave Shinjuku Jail for the Tokyo Detention Center, expecting things to improve.
Instead...
I was processed all over again.
After months of confinement, my medications were abruptly changed.
Pain management disappeared.
Sleep became another battle.
PTSD didn't stop because the paperwork changed buildings.
Neither did the language barrier.
Sometimes the hardest part isn't the walls...
It's trying to explain what you're living through when no one seems to have time to listen.
These recordings are part of my effort to preserve those notebooks, one page at a time, exactly as they were written.
No embellishment.
No revision.
Just the record.
