He was winning. Then one sentence between games got him escorted out of the building and banned from competitive Yu-Gi-Oh for a full year.
Trey Massengale — Traviis "Reanimator" Massengale — won YCS Orlando in 2011 with a Zombie deck he built himself. Years later at YCS Dallas he ran deep into a deciding game three, siding from a fifteen-card side deck with under three minutes left. His opponent called a judge over. That was it. He was later unbanned, and he still plays.
Konami's own tournament policy now reads, in black and white: this time limit "does not guarantee you the full three (3) minutes simply to pass the time."
