How to stop your battery from draining too quickly:
1. Adjust battery settings
Click the battery icon in the top menu to see your battery percentage and check which apps are using the most power. From here, click Battery Settings.
Set Low Power Mode settings to “Only on Battery”
Click the Info button next to Battery Health and turn on Optimized Battery Charging and “Manage battery longevity” – Click Options
Set the screen to dim and turn on the “Optimize video streaming” option
2. Check battery health
Hold the Option key, click the Apple menu, and choose System Information.
Under the Hardware section, select Power.
You'll find your current cycle count under Health Information.

3. Turn your display off when inactive
Go to System Settings – Lock Screen.
Click the pop-up menu next to “Turn display off on battery when inactive” and choose the minimum comfortable option.
4. Find out what is using energy
Open Activity Monitor – Click Energy to find apps with the highest impact.
To quit one, just select it and hit X.

5. Turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
Go to System Settings, then click Bluetooth in the sidebar and turn it off.
In System Settings, click Network. Select Wi-Fi in the list, then turn it off.
Tip: Try to disconnect any accessories that you aren’t using, such as external hard drives — these can be at fault for your MacBook battery dying fast.
