Want your tumbled rocks to go from “pretty good” to crazy glossy? Burnishing is the pro secret that most beginners skip.
In this Short, I walk you through a simple burnish cycle:
load freshly polished stones into a clean barrel (no grit, no polish), add a squirt of dish soap or a spoonful of borax, add water just below the rocks, and tumble for 2–4 hours. This quick step strips away leftover polish residue and gives quartz, agate, and jasper an extra, glassy shine.
