Sorry to be all Catholic-ey on main, but I support access to abortion for ANY reason. The words we use are being EXPLOITED, we have to stop giving them that power. I’m criticizing harmful rhetoric, not individual choices.
The right to choose means nothing unless everyone TRULY has the freedom to make those choices without discrimination, coercion, or risking poverty. No one should be forced to abort because they can afford rent or childcare or therapy. Poor people should get financial support. Disabled or mentally ill parents should get real services, not stigma. No one should be punished for existing or for wanting a family.
We can push for legal, safe abortion without implying that poor, disabled, mentally ill, or marginalized people shouldn’t exist. Let’s protect rights AND protect each other.
