On one of our most recent group botanical tours, we popped by Tommy Thomas’s former finca-turned-botanical garden in Costa Rica. Now the 20-acre El Arca Jardín Botánico (The Ark Botanical Garden) gives the public an opportunity to tour a living collection of around 3,000 different types of tropical plants, fruiting trees, and edibles. In this walking tour, Tommy takes us through some of the botanic gardens, concentrating on the tropical ornamentals and fruiting trees and tells us how he got started building the garden (hint: he didn’t really have a plan!)
