Principles and practices of peace education explores how peace might be built in everyday classroom practice. It can be used as individual study or as a basis for CPD with a larger group. It introduces layers of peace education for children and young people, including inner-peace and wellbeing; inter-personal peace through positive relationships and constructive approaches to conflict; and critical thinking about the world beyond the classroom.
The course introduces theories and practice of peace education from across the UK and beyond. As well as simple, practical ideas for use in the classroom, it offers links to materials for further study and curriculum planning. This course will also be relevant for people working with children and young people in informal and community settings.
This course is a collaboration between The Open University and Quakers in Britain quaker.org.uk/peace-education-case
