In today’s video, I perform The Legend of Ashitaka from Princess Mononoke, composed by Joe Hisaishi. This powerful and emotional theme perfectly captures the epic and dramatic nature of the film, blending lyrical beauty with deep intensity.
Hisaishi’s score for Princess Mononoke is one of his most dynamic and cinematic works, reflecting the movie’s themes of nature, conflict, and destiny. In my piano arrangement I wanted to come as close to the orchestral sound as possible. So I composed the accompaniment with added second voices underlaying the melody and also made use of the whole range of the keyboard.
