We were delighted to welcome HRH the Prince of Wales to Frenchay Campus.
During his visit, Prince William had the chance to explore the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, interacting with our vibrant community of pioneering tech start-ups, entrepreneurs, and researchers dedicated to addressing major societal challenges.
Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange, Professor Darren Reynolds, highlighted how our challenge-led approach nurtures ideas from imagination to tangible real-world impact. Creating a hub of future-thinking start-ups at Bristol Robotics Laboratory that are improving lives and strengthening the UK economy.
From robotics to wearable tech, Prince William saw first-hand a thriving community of researchers and entrepreneurs working collaboratively in our Enterprise Zone, home to more than 70 high-tech start-ups. He met the research team behind the VIVO Hub, as well as the founders of smart mobility scooter start-up Supersmith and wearable tech company Milbotix.
In a significant moment for robotics and artificial intelligence in the UK, it was a privilege to present His Royal Highness with a glimpse of the future.
