Inspired by a journey, Hermann Fürst von Pückler-Muskau became enthusiastic about the English landscape park, about unobtrusively tamed nature. In the spring of 1817, he began to redesign the family estate in Lusatia in this spirit. He did not have enough money; the park brought him to the brink of ruin. Germans and Poles are now working together to cultivate Pückler's legacy, which was torn apart after the war.
