This 4155 regulated kerosene burner is mounted on a 1946 plated Primus 16 stove. The burner has been converted to burn denatured alcohol by swapping the kerosene jet for a larger-orificed alcohol jet. Also, an air restrictor tube was placed inside the spigot tube of the burner. The air restrictor tube has four holes just above the top of the jet when the restrictor tube is properly placed. This stove is shown burning 90% ethanol. This stove and it's converted burning are burning denatured alcohol correctly and well. Note that the flame is blue. As the spindle is rotated closed you can note that there is a period of flame lift-off as the cleaning needle rises into the jet. This 4155's earlier design has the cleaning needle extend through the jet when the spindle valve is fully closed. This is the opposite of what later-designed regulated silent burners did. Note that the spindle mechanism is located on the left of the jet. In later designs, the spindle mechanism is located to the right of the jet.
