Meredith was originally the first OC I had for this story, which by the way I started in 2021
Super long context:
Meredith Torner, adopted daughter of Isaac Torner, is a prodigy of robotics and modern engineering, participating in multiple competitions and exhibitions.
Meredith, being a famous, successful and intelligent salamander, is a symbol of empowerment of her species (which was oppressed by humans for several years), and according to her father, she must act as such.
Meredith's closest relationship is the one she has with her father, she admires him and loves him very much.
Having grown up without living with anyone of the same species has formed Meredith almost like a human, she is extremely insecure about her appearance and constantly tries to hide her features, specifically those that are typical of a salamander.
When Meredith doesn't meet expectations, or does something that her father considers childish or inappropriate, he simply locks her up and deprives her of all her material possessions. This treatment has made Meredith increasingly more reserved and distant with others, in addition to making her a bit of an accumulator.
Being in her room surrounded by the things she bought even though she didn't need makes her feel safe.
