OneMoreBolt | Prepping and Stabbing the 327 / 700r4 Combo Into the Nova Wagon @OneMoreBolt | Uploaded April 2024 | Updated October 2024, 6 hours ago.
It has been far too long, but finally the 327ci small block chevy and 700r4 overdrive automatic transmission have been married up and meet the 1965 chevy nova wagon chassis for the firs time as a couple.
Did a basic inspection and service on the 700r4 just to make sure it wasn't holding any surprises in the pan before stuffing it back in the car. This consisted of a pan cleanout, new filter, new tail shaft seal, and replaced that pesky governor that gave us issues a while back.
After getting the transmission serviced up it get's introduced to the mill that will be providing the power, my crusty old 327 cubic small block. This motor has been a great motor in the past and still has lots of life in it. This combo should make for a great driver. Plenty of power to smoke the tires in this wagon and should still get down the road with decent fuel economy, that is so long as we can go more than 6 miles without an issue!
Don't be too excited for my progress just yet, no doubt this car isn't done complicating the process of trying to make it better and get it back on the road.
