Thanks to SendCutSend.com for sponsoring this series on Laser Cutting with Fusion 360!

Learn how to prepare your text for laser cutting using Fusion 360's sketch features. In this lesson, we'll discuss "bridging" the areas of negative space. We'll discuss when and how to break the "Projection Link" of the projected contours.

Fusion 360's Sketch environment allows you to sketch 2-dimensional objects before turning them into 3D objects or using the 2D file for unique workflows, including laser cutters. The Text command in Fusion 360 can be utilized as a starting point to creating text for a laser cutter. Once the text is placed in your design, you'll want to join negative spaces with the rest of the contours.

Check out the next video in this series, where I demo how to export your Fusion 360 sketch as a DXF file.
