It's finally here... Film World episode 1! In this episode we are making a lightsaber blade in Blender 2.69.
First we will go over shooting the correct footage, then we will go over rotoscoping your lightsaber blade, then finally, we will go into compositing using Blender's node based compositor.
All you need to follow along is footage of you or an actor with a lightsaber and Blender 2.69. (Almost any version of Blender will work, but, 2.69 is the latest as of the posting of this video)
If you don't have Blender 2.69 here is the link of Blender's website so you can get this incredible free software... blender.org/download
I would recommend you get Blender even if you're not going to follow the tutorial. Blender is amazing software with so many features at an unbeatable price... FREE! You can do almost anything in Blender including, VFX, CGI, motion tracking, basic non-linear editing, and much more.
