In this episode we are making a very important piece of film equipment... a clapper board. The clapper board is used to sync your audio and video. This is especially useful if you are recorder away from your camera onto a external recording devices. It is also useful to sync up multiple cameras that are shooting the same thing that way you can get get lots of angles with proper time positioning.
What makes this DIY clapper board different from all the rest? Mine is completely DIY, You don't need to have 20 years experience in wood working, it works really well, and you can make it for FREE!
Down below is a very small parts list to make your board. all of these are very basic, so, if you or a friend have these parts you can make this for FREE!
PARTS LIST:
1: A small piece of 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch ply wood (Approximately 15 inches by 13 inches)
2: Two small bolts at least 1 1/4 inches long with nuts to match
3: Two small thin things you can make brackets out of
4: A piece of paper with your clapper board information on it
5: 1 clear page protector for a note book
6: A dry erase marker
7: Hot glue
8: White and/or black spray paint
Now this build will require a little bit of cutting with a saw. If you don't know how to use one ask someone that does to help you.
