This is the second installment of Premier Prep's DIY builds. Allot of people have made a shoulder camera stabilizer and there are really great, so why did I design another one? Two reasons. Number 1, I wanted to see if I could make one of my own design. Reason number 2, I wanted to make a much less expensive rig than everyone else. Did I succeed? I think I did... but what do you think? Please do remember you can pimp out your rig to your liking. You can add external monitors, audio recorders, and more. If you make this rig I really want to see your result.
I actually spent a bit less than 7 dollars, And there are only a few parts you need. The parts are as follows:
3 T joints
1 Cross joint
1 45 degree
2 90 degree
1 ¾ to 1 ¼ T joint
1 plug
1 scrap piece of pvc pipe
My whole rig was made out ¾ inch PVC but, you can use what ever size you want. I think half in might be a good idea. I saw Scott Eggleston ( The Frugal Filmmaker ) make rig out of half inch PVC than put rubber bike handle grips on it.
