With the 30th Anniversary of the release of Predator (1987) around the corner (June 12), and Shane Black's new Sequel "The Predator" being released next year, this might be a good time to take a closer look at the classic Arnold Schwarzenegger action, sci fi, masterpiece. This movie still resonates with action fans 30 years after it's release. So, in this video, I will examine how exactly the Director, John McTiernan, and the writers accomplished this. Specifically, I will explain how Predator used 3 Act Story Structure (The Film Paradigm) to create one of the most suspenseful, epic, Badass action films of all time.
I will also briefly examine why this movie's sequels, Predator 2, the Alien vs. Predator series, and Predators (2010), didn't reach the heights of the original.
