So then, ever wondered what one amp’s preamp might sound like through another amp’s power section? Or speaker? Or multiple combinations therein? Today we delve into that a little bit, following a conversation about slaving amps. The concept is simple enough – use your effects loop to separate the pre- and power amp sections of a couple of different amps and connect ’em up for new combinations. And then try different cabs too!

This lovely vintage guitar has a tonal Achilles heel and I’m determined to repair it.
I’ve taken the opportunity of some time off to really get into this project – stuff like this is time consuming mentally and physically and I don’t want to rush it. So yes, it’s a loooong and drawn-out video, the absolute opposite of the fast-and-simple delivery that this medium typically demands. No apologies.
