𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐇𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐠𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦.
Evan Roberts understood this.
He left school at 12 and worked beside his father in a Welsh coal mine.
He had no theology degree.
He had no platform.
He spent 10 years praying for revival.
Then, in 1904, one prayer changed his direction:
“Bend me.”
Roberts returned to his village at age 26.
Only 17 people stayed to hear him after a prayer meeting.
He gave them four steps.
First, confess every known sin.
Second, remove every habit you question.
Third, obey the Holy Spirit without delay.
Fourth, confess your faith in public.
Those 17 people became the start of the Welsh Revival.
Within two weeks, crowds filled churches.
Meetings lasted until three or four in the morning.
Miners arrived from work in their clothes.
Shopkeepers closed early to find seats.
Prayer spread into coal mines and steelworks.
Reports linked the revival with 100,000 conversions in five months.
Arrests for drunkenness in Glamorgan fell from about 10,000 a year to 5,000.
Pubs lost customers.
Families spent money on food, clothes, and furniture instead of alcohol.
One later study reported 82.5 percent of converts remained in church fellowship.
This movement did not start with a stage, money, or fame.
It started with prayer, surrender, and action.
Kenneth Hagin taught the same principle through Ephesians.
Knowledge alone produces no result.
Knowledge acted upon produces results.
He compared spiritual authority to a police officer stopping traffic.
The officer does not have enough strength to hold back each car.
He has authority backed by the law.
In the same way, Jesus said in Luke 10:19:
“I give you authority.”
Hagin spent months praying the prayers in Ephesians 1 and 3 over himself.
He replaced “you” with “me.”
He asked God for wisdom, revelation, and understanding.
After weeks of prayer, Scripture began to make sense in a new way.
His lesson was direct.
You do not pray from defeat.
You pray from your position in Christ.
