Need to de-stress? Come with me on my Prairie walk-about. I tried to circle our 3 acre prairie with my video camera (yes, the video is over 7 minutes), but had to stop half-way due to the heat. The Prairie Blazing Star is having its best showing this year.

I counted 6 - 7 Monarchs photo-bombing my video...not the most I've ever seen, but was happy to see them. You can hear my purple martins in the background, encouraging the last of the youngsters to fledge.

Blooming:

Rattlesnake master and Prairie Blazing Star are dominating.

Lanceleaf Coreopsis (still some in bloom)

Big Blue Stem and Indian Grass rising
