GUILDFORD, U.K. — “A group of heat-sensing satellites are about to be launched into Earth orbit, using unique infrared cameras that can measure heat emissions from any building on the planet, according to The Guardian.”
“The project, run by British space company Satellite Vu, will act as the planet’s ‘energy meter’ by selling heat data to organizations looking to cut wasted energy and power bills, searching out badly insulated offices, homes and factories in order to identify where most waste occurs and clarify if attempted improvements have been successful.”
“More widely, the heat data could be used to help monitor river pollution from factories, and tech site TechCrunch suggests it can also help find warmer or cooler areas that suggest underground water, power lines or other heat-affecting objects.”
“Satellite Vu’s chief executive adds that while currently it is only possible to make broad surveys of heat being emitted in a neighborhood, Satellite Vu satellites will be able to study individual buildings.’”
“The first of a total seven satellites will be launched this week on a Falcon 9 rocket operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, according to The Guardian.”

WUZHOU, CHINA — China Eastern Airlines flight MU5735 pulled out of one nosedive before another sent it crashing to the ground, according to flight data cited by the South China Morning Post.
On Monday, the Boeing 737-800[c] was traveling from Kunming, carrying 132 people, and had been due to land in Guangzhou in the afternoon.
Data from FlightRadar24 shows that just after 2:20 p.m. the plane was at 29,100 feet when it began to dive down at speeds of up to 348 miles per hour.
After 20 seconds, the rate of descent became slower, and for the next 45 seconds the plane began to slowly level off, before reaching 7,425 feet above the ground and eventually beginning to climb back up.
About 15 seconds later, however, with the plane at 8,600 feet, it fell into a second dive which it did not recover from, crashing into the ground after around 30 seconds of falling, in a wooded area of Teng county, near Wuzhou city. No survivors have been found. China Plane Crash: China Eastern Airlines MU5735 Plane Crash Animation](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/bmIMK-DXRH4/mqdefault.jpg)
