This video was produced when the laboratory operated as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The laboratory is now the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR). Powered By HELICS features the Hierarchical Engine for Large-scale Infrastructure Co-Simulation (HELICS), an open-source co-simulation platform that enables integrated multisector/multiscale analysis by bringing together existing software simulators so they exchange information during run-time to form a comprehensive simulation. HELICS was developed in partnership with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and has been used for multiple applications from small desktop studies to large-scale T&D analysis to real-time simulations with hardware.
