"My mother has studied till 7th grade and my father did basic industrial training to support my elder sisters, taking care of his family, raising us from the humblest background.
I definitely did not know what to do after my matriculation in 2005, let alone IIT. My elder sisters were my guiding light, so one day while having lunch together, my sister said, "We will send him to IIT."
We all started looking at each other and burst into laughter. We all were unaware and surprised as we did not know what this place is and how will they send me there.
Then in Nashik, a coaching institute came, I attended their session and learnt about the cut-throat competition and the examination standard, which selects the cream of the nation's best candidates, who achieve merit in this exam.
I asked myself, "Why not? What will happen, I might fail, but what if, I studied hard and succeed?"
I entered into a zone and was so focused that I fell in love with solving Physics, Chemistry and Mathematical equations. It was never about the competition, but just enjoying the process. Day and night, I was sharpening my routine and skills, in a way that has never felt so addictive and made me happy with myself. I could solve these problems even in my sleep.
But life woks in mysteriously funny ways. In my first attempt, I got a good rank, but not good enough to get the best college to pursue my passion for Aerospace Engineering. Again the same question, "Why not a second time for IIT and this time let's aim for IIT-Bombay?"
I kept it simple with my approach this time, yet left no page unturned, took the best from my past shortcomings and after a year long pure dedication with the right and smart mindset, I was at the doors of my dream college, ready to study Aerospace Engineering.
One thing led to another, and I was leading India's first student satellite program (PRATHAM) with 'ISRO' in my third year, with one simple attitude of service, blended with curiosity and the same question, "Why not?"
We had done something fabulous, something that not happens even in one entire lifetime. And here I was, getting ready after working with 'DRDO' by again asking;
"Why not a person coming from the small-town of Nashik build a world class space-tech company and deep-tech infrastructure in India for a global market?"
With the same philosophy, in 2017, I co-founded Manastu Space and our vision of building green propulsion systems for satellites, aiming to build a safe and sustainable space environment came true. The road was tough, but maybe I have always liked the ones less taken and less explored.
We ask again, "Why not build an Indian Space Ecosystem and cutting-edge technology that will contribute to our nation's growth and defense objectives, competing with international companies? What stops us, absolutely nothing!"
