There is much confusion in the Church today regarding the power and authority of the Pope and the role of the Bishop as shepherd of his Diocese. In this study we will consider the biblical foundation for church structure and dispel the errors which currently afflict many in our understanding of the nature and structure of the Catholic Church.

Bishop Joseph Strickland earned a Master of Divinity Degree and was ordained to the priesthood in 1985. In 1996, he was named a Prelate of Honor with the title Monsignor by His Holiness Pope St. John Paul II. Chosen as the fourth bishop of the Diocese of Tyler by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, Bishop Strickland was ordained to the episcopacy on November 28, 2012.
