Thursday and Friday were days where I saw the victory of Jesus so powerfully—at the book signing and Ignite Orlando event. Then yesterday on the drive home to the airport my mom texted me simply pics and a video of my dad as the grand Marshal of the community day parade in my hometown of Andes, NY. It slipped my mind that August 1 was the big day, and just seeing these images brought instant tears. My dad is one of the most servant-hearted people I’ve ever seen. The way he has served people as a volunteer fireman and EMT for 40 years and served at the church I grew up in for 40+ years is so rare in this world and truly deserves honor. But he’s never looked for recognition. So seeing him be honored like this touched me deeply. God lifts the humble. I thank God for honoring my dad in this special way. And I thank you, Dad, for being such an amazing example to me of humility, purity, and what it truly means to serve God and His people with all your heart.
