(I loved working on it.) Story follows lyrics, first showing Christine/Bella running from Erik/Leon, who wish to possess and overpower, to keep them caged with them. Their love an obsession. Christine/Bella are tormented, uncertain- fearful of the things E and L do to others, but they also see a gentler side, drawn to them despite their qualms. Slowly they come to trust, to want to be with them, but are still uncertain and fearful of the future - so they convince themselves they will “live together in harmony” - while E/L state “they will never escape them and must obey” - but slowly, the men’s obsessive love grows into a rich and enduring love that can be shared, with both couples (E/C, and L/B) fulfilled and living their dream. A lot of symbolism with how this was done.
